The SSI works towards creating sustainable, low-carbon, and resilient building solutions responsive to social, economic, and environmental needs.

This work focuses on:

• Design and retrofit of high-performance, sustainable buildings at scale.
• Implementing planning and evidence-based spatial design for public infrastructure systems.
• Housing policy and programme design responding to exclusion, vulnerability, regulatory complexity, and market opportunities.
• Monitoring and evaluation of housing-related public programmes and policy.
• Integrating affordable housing into city-level plans and transportation policies.
