A sustainable state-of-the-art Campus

The IIHS (Institution Deemed to be) University is based in the IIHS, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, located in the prime locality of Sadashivanagar in Bengaluru. The premises are equipped with state-of-the-art technology to aid collaboration and learning, both in the physical and virtual modes.

 

These premises are supplemented by the upcoming 54-acre IIHS Campus in Kengeri, Bengaluru, which is the site of teaching–learning for the practical and experiential components of several of the University’s courses, as well as institutional events and conferences. This will emerge as the University’s main Campus to enable the integrated delivery of interdisciplinary teaching–learning, research, and practice, and demonstrate the best examples of Indian design, technological innovation and craft traditions, as well as campus planning and resource management.

IIHS, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru

The IIHS, Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, is a network of four buildings in Sadashivanagar, Bengaluru, all within walking distance of each other. Together, they form the primary teaching–learning hub of the University.

The Campus buildings feature:

  • Multipurpose lecture and seminar halls and tutorial rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art learning infrastructure.
  • A dedicated Library, with a collection of over 25,000 books.
  • Offices for over 100 faculty and staff members.
  • Faculty meeting rooms with a state-of-the-art audio-visual room, equipment room, and computer centre.
  • Social spaces, including expansive dining areas, a rooftop garden, breakout zones, a student lounge, a cafeteria, and an indoor sports area.

IIHS, Kengeri Campus, Bengaluru

The IIHS, Kengeri Campus, Bengaluru, is being developed as a world-class, integrated, and sustainable net-zero carbon residential campus on a 54-acre site in Kengeri, Bengaluru. The Campus will test and demonstrate innovative systems to enable sustainable living with a focus on water conservation, recycling and biological treatment, onsite renewable electricity generation, sustainable urban agriculture, agroforestry, and horticulture, zero discharge of effluents, and good practices in solid waste management. This will emerge as the main campus of the University.It currently houses:

  • An Experimental Building, with workspaces for faculty and staff, a conference room, labs, a sick room-cum-guest room, and a semi-open terrace dining/breakout area.
  • A Multipurpose Building, with a semi-open space, used for teaching, activities and exhibitions.
  • An Amphitheatre, with a capacity of 500 people.
  • A Playground, designed for multipurpose sports use, with a seating arena for 350 people.
  • An Experimental Kitchen, for day-to-day food production and events, and used in the ‘Grow, Cook and Eat’ Foundation Course.
