The Library at the IIHS (Institution Deemed to be) University is central to our mission to build a world-class research, knowledge, and teaching hub focused on India’s urbanisation that also draws upon processes from across the world. The collections are rooted in Indian and South Asian contexts, while representing the best of global knowledge.
The Library is developing the largest reference collection on urbanisation in the Global South. The Library has been open to the public since 2014 and serves as a repository of interdisciplinary knowledge covering more than 35 disciplinary areas from across the world.
The Library will soon grow into a collection of 200,000+ volumes, incorporating books, digital repositories, multimedia archives, cartographic collections, and teaching resources. It will act as a key hub for urbanisation scholarship and applied research.
