Long-Term Urban Ecological Observatory (LTUEO)

The SES anchors the first megacity Long-Term Urban Ecological Observatory in the world. It works on knowledge generation, developing nature-based solutions, and building human capacity at the interface of urban ecological science, sustainability science, and climate science.

This work focuses on:

• Spatio-temporal biodiversity assessments of urban socio-ecological systems.
• Monitoring and design of nature-based solutions and ecosystem-based adaptation.
• Early warning systems for global change in an urbanising world.
• Citizen science to foster participation in urban biodiversity monitoring and conservation.
