IIHS University hosted City Immersion Walks through southern Bengaluru for students on 13 and 20 September 2025. Led by faculty members Jagdish Krishnaswamy and Smitha M B, the Ecology and Heritage Walks introduced students to Bengaluru’s ecology and history.
At Lalbagh Botanical Garden, the Ecology Walk, guided by Jagdish Krishnaswamy and other faculty members from the School of Environment & Sustainability, examined biodiversity and urban ecosystems, exploring how natural history and human activity shape Bengaluru. The Heritage Walk followed the city’s layered history, beginning with a drive through Basavanagudi neighbourhood and followed by stops at key heritage sites such as Tipu Sultan’s Summer Palace, Bangalore Fort, K R Market, and Avenue Road.
The walks allowed the two batches of students to experience an immersive perspective on the city’s ecological systems and history.
