The IIHS (Institution Deemed to be) University offers four Master’s programmes. They are in Sustainability Science and Practice; Climate Change Science and Practice; Urban Economic and Infrastructure Development, and the more general Urban Studies and Practice.
These Master’s programmes are two-year, interdisciplinary, full-time degree programmes, open to learners from any graduate discipline. Each Master’s programme is structured around a specific learning trajectory, in line with the curriculum principles of the University. Learners move from first building an interdisciplinary foundation across diverse urban and urbanising systems, then gaining sectoral and applied knowledge in a specific theme, and, finally, applying their learnings through an internship and/or dissertation.
This two-year structure employs a unique pedagogical method that enables the integration of knowledge from traditional disciplines such as the humanities and arts, with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), as recommended by the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
